UPDATE May 2020 – please visit www.pepsincheck.com to order Peptest in the US – known as PepsinCheck.
Reflux disease affects an estimated 20 to 40 per cent of adults in the US, with symptoms experienced on a daily to weekly basis.
Reflux diagnosis typically entails several invasive and unpleasant tests but Peptest is an accurate and painless saliva test that tells you conclusively if you have reflux.
Is Peptest available in the US? Yes! It works for all types of reflux disease including Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD), which is known for causing heartburn and regurgitation, and Laryngopharyngeal Reflux (LPR), which causes sore throat, chronic cough and a feeling of a lump in the throat.
Customers in the US and Canada can order Peptest onlind. Select ‘USA/Canada’ from the list, select a diagnostic package and click Buy Now – your collection kit and full instructions will then be sent direct to your address via FedEx.
Once you have completed your test, FedEx will collect your samples directly from your address and return to our laboratory in the UK for analysis. All FedEx courier costs are included in the price.
The Fauquier Ear Nose & Throat Consultants of Virginia clinic also offers Peptest to its customers and Peptest will soon be available to Chicago’s NorthShore University HealthSystem patients.
We currently test all samples in the UK, but are looking to register Peptest with the US Food and Drug Administration so we can fully launch Peptest in the US in 2015. Our company RD Biomed is actively seeking a new distribution partner – so watch this space.
We’re also delighted to be offering full support to research studies into reflux disease ongoing at Boston Children’s Hospital and North Western University in Illinois.
SPECIAL OFFER As an introductory offer for new customers in the US and Canada, we would like to offer you a 5% discount. Simply enter the promotion code ‘PEPFRD’ and click Apply on the Peptest website order page.
When will the peptest be on offer in AUSTRALIA?
Hi – we are striving to make Peptest available around the world and hope to have a distribution base set up in South East Asia in 2015. This should put us in a good position to begin the registration process in Australia.
Hi there.
Given the direction of research into pepsin, both with your work in the UK and the ongoing work at the University of Wisconsin, do you think that anti-pepsin drugs will become a way of solving the LPR riddle? And what time frame are we looking at before these drugs come to fruition?
Alex
Hi Alex,
Thank you for contacting us.
We believe that being able to manage exposure to pepsin is a critical factor in managing symptoms and long-term complications of reflux. Some companies already work on pepsin related products – for example Gaviscon Advance in the UK has registered claims for the prevention of reflux of pepsin (along with other gastric contents).
We will keep an eye on pipelines and research and publish information if we hear of any developments in pepsin management.
