From 26 to 28 January 2024, we had the privilege of participating in the 18th National ENT Masterclass held at Doncaster Royal Infirmary alongside our UK distributor, Biohit Healthcare.
This three-day event served as a pivotal gathering for ear, nose and throat (ENT) professionals, delving into the latest advancements and pressing topics within the field.
The Masterclass provided a comprehensive overview of key areas in otolaryngology – which encompasses the diagnosis and treatment of disorders related to the ears, nose, and throat – covering a diverse range of topics including paediatric airway problems, endoscopic ear surgery, vestibular disorders, and much more.
Attendees at the National ENT Masterclass, including ENT trainees, general practitioners, and senior nurses from across the UK, Europe, Australia, America, Africa, and Asia, had the opportunity to engage in lectures, discussions, and interactive sessions led by experts in the field.
One of the highlights of the event was, of course, the opportunity for attendees to connect with RD Biomed and learn more about Peptest, a non-invasive diagnostic test designed to identify reflux.
The event, held both in person at the Education Centre of Doncaster Royal Infirmary and live-streamed via YouTube, reached a wide audience, with nearly 2,500 free delegate places provided annually through the International ENT Masterclass platform.
The Masterclass also featured a keynote lecture by Professor Vin Paleri, focusing on emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, genomics, and molecular mapping in the field of otolaryngology.
Peptest detects pepsin — the stomach enzyme that indicates reflux — in a saliva sample. Developed by the late Professor Peter Dettmar and used in over 40 countries, it is available directly to patients as well as NHS and private clinics.
