Professor Peter Dettmar, our company director, recently attended the Czech Pneumology Congress in Olomouc.
The conference, which took place in the eastern Czech Republic city on 18-20 September, highlighted the latest information and data on diseases involving the respiratory tract.
Presentations included a demonstration of how Peptest can be used to diagnose reflux disease by detecting the pepsin enzyme in saliva samples and data showing the concentration of pepsin in refluxed samples from pulmonary disease patients including Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF), chronic cough, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), asthma and Cystic Fibrosis (CF).Peter teamed up with Imedex, our distribution partner in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, to present data on Peptest. The Czech Republic was an early adopter of Peptest and Imedex has been the driving force behind this success from the beginning.
Peter has been collaborating closely with Professor Milos Pesek (MD), head of the Department of Pulmonary Disease at the Charles University Hospital in Pilsen. Professor Pesek has now studied more than 500 pulmonary patients using Peptest with exciting results to be published shortly.
Treating reflux without confirmation can mean months on medication that isn't the right fit. Peptest is a simple saliva test that detects pepsin — objective evidence of reflux — so you can act on what's actually happening.
